Marketing Assistant (full time)

As Ignition Collective’s Marketing Assistant, no two days will be the same. With over 50 years of combined experience across multiple sectors and working projects across the globe, it’s fair to say we’re not your average marketing agency. We strive to do things differently and are proud of our approach.

From brand identity, social media content, product launches, website design and build, and pretty much everything else we are tasked with - you'll support us with igniting great ideas and literally make marketing happen.

You'll be a vital part of our small team, working with our project directors, graphic designers, and web experts, and most importantly reporting directly to our managing director. If you're driven, focused, and dedicated to the creative process, this role could be perfect for you.


The Marketing Assistant candidate must be:

About the role:

  • Work alongside the IC team to manage schedules and content plans to deliver projects on time

  • Liaise with clients on projects – taking clients briefs, discussing requirements and providing updates

  • Assist in creating marketing strategies, developing ideas and implementing campaigns

  • Budget management and maintaining a log of purchase orders and invoices

  • Support the management and maintenance of marketing plans, schedules and project trackers

  • Maintain and manage the creation and updating of content across social media channels and websites

  • Create promotional materials such as presentations, reports, website copy, blogs, newsletters, guidelines, brochures, case studies, graphics and adverts

  • Perform research and compile reports

  • Assist IC team as required with project-specific tasks such as brand campaigns, product launches, website build and more

  • Ongoing management of image and video libraries

  • Keep up to date with marketing and social media trends and identify how developments may support and create opportunities for the business

  • Ad hoc work assignments and administrative support to the whole IC team as assigned for the efficient functioning of the business and office


What we are looking for:

  • At least one year of relevant experience

  • A keen interest in marketing, understanding of the marketing mix and the importance to a business

  • Strong copywriting skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task, meet deadlines, coordinate own work, and anticipate the needs of others

  • Good interpersonal skills, professional, positive manner, and a strong client service approach

  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to work under pressure

  • Be a quick learner with a willingness to get stuck in to get the job done

  • Ability to work efficiently, explore new ways of doing things and learn new skills as they become necessary

  • Flexible to work outside of work hours when needed to deliver projects

  • Solid technical skills including internet research, MS Office Suite and/or Google Suite

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality


Knowledge and/or experience of the following would be an advantage:

  • Adobe creative tools and apps - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc. Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Canva and other digital platforms

  • Google Analytics and social media analytics

  • Audience engagement on social media, particularly Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram

  • Brand development and corporate identity

  • Ability to identify and maximise opportunities for clients

  • Experience working in the motorsport or automotive industry
